Well they're a cross between horror/science fiction.

sounds to me like you're interested in faster-paced horror movies (or ones with "action" elements).
try Cemetary Man (also known as "Dellamore Dellamorte," i believe).
dunno if these are too obvious, but some of them are prolly up your alley-- Evil Dead, Braindead (Dead Alive), Dawn Of The Dead, The Omega Man, An American Werewolf In London, Dog Soldiers, Blade, From Dusk Till Dawn, Near Dark...
most of those move along at a pretty good pace, have pretty good monsters and a fair amount of fighting & blowing sh*t up.

The Crow (the Brandon Lee one).
Highlander (1st one).
John Carpenters Vampires
Dracula 2000
Time Bandits (Its not really an action movie but it combine sci-fi and fantasy)
