6x9 does equal 42 incidentally (you just have to use base 13 numbers)

I don&#39;t have a copy of the book at hand so I&#39;m going from memory...

I thought that the mice built a machine that would tell them the meaning of life, it came back with 42. Then they built a machine to discover the question (Earth).

So the meaning of life is 42, but no-one knows the question...

I;m gonna have to reread the books aren&#39;t I?
