its not a 'trojan', its more like a f/w test, and you dont really need to reboot if it does connect

I don't care.

A hidden file with bad commands is bad.

Period.

the 'warning' couldnt have been much clearer

i dont think it should be deleted, maybe moved. there have been tons of topics about the 'best' firewalls/settings lately, and if you've got your settings right you should be able to deal with it

brrrrrrrr.......

fine mods we have.........

but but but..
I tell you not to click it  this is a test of the willing [/b][/quote]
Didn't click it.

I dl'd it, then scanned it............

I'm no winer.

If you want to test, go software or some place, not the lounge.........

1. If any computer file when executed on a computer causes the interference of the running of that computer to the extent that the computer has to be rebooted then that file is deemed to be a Trojan file.

2. Computer Science. A program that appears to be legitimate but is designed to have destructive effects, as to data residing in the computer onto which the program was loaded.

Okay.

You're right about IE, but the lounge is not for those purposes, i think.

Please ask for a move to softwareworld.

Peace.

IMHO the link should be deleted as the definition of a Trojan is clearly defined. The only reason i say this is because:

Even if you specifically asked people NOT to click - do you really think the average person on this board WONT CLICK? In that case you need to re-think. Even if the Trojan is "friendly" its still not cosha B)

I didnt click and i wont - i read enough of the posts before to be sensible enough not to

Peace

i agree with your definitions, but i see the thread as a test and there has been a lot worse posted here to 'test' things. i really dont think there would have been a problem if it had been posted in another section

well I tell you not to open it this is like all the other test
you don't have to, but by your logic no one should post any links that compromise ie's security flaws

Not with a direct link to the file.

A link to a page containing a test would be better.

Thanks.
