I downloaded warcraft 3- reign of chaos, and when I click on the warcraft3.exe file a dos window opens then quickly closes. It said in the window, Program to big to fit in memory but I have 256mb of ram. I don't know how to fix it.

Is this "Warcraft3.exe" the file that you have downloaded ??

If "yes" then try this:
1. Get WinRAR 3.00 or better 3.20
2. Install WinRAR
3. Right click your "Warcraft3.exe" -> Extraxt here

or try this (if you have XP):
1. Right click "My Computer"
2. Choose "Advanced" task
3. Click on "Settings" at "Performance" category
4. In the new window click on the "Advanced" tab
5. At "Virtual Memory" choose "Change"
6. Choose "Custom size"
7. Initial size (MB): 382 ; Maximum size (MB): 766
8. RESTART your PC

What is the file size, if it is 500MB+ you are probably gonna want to rename it to either bin or iso and then look in the pinned topics in software worls for what to do next.

I downloaded winrar and that didnt work, and then i changed the virtual memory like you said and that didnt work either. And the file size is only like 160mb. It might be corrupt but i have downloaded other games that did the same thing. So i dont think its corrupt.

You have to rename it to .iso then burn it or mount it to a virtual drive.

That's righ.best is, you use Alcohol 120%, so you don't have to burn it.You can just mount it to a virtual drive and then install it.

Becouse of the small filesize , I guess this instalation doesen't include the videos for the campaign and some other stuff, but I think yiu'll be able to play it.

Theory:
You can open it with WORDPAD, NOTEPAD .. etc , than "Save As ..." and save it as "Warcraft3.ISO"

Reality:
It will let your CPU suffer, couse it will take a long time until WORDPAD (or NOTEPAD) opens the file , and when your PC is a little bit slow it could freez your PC.
I suggest you download a free trial version of Hex Workshop 4.21 and you'll be able to open any file and save it as any file that you want ( even files that are a a few gigs big )

Warcraft 3 RoC is about 600 MB, but I guess someone removed all the videos, movies, preview movies of further realeases,some maps,etc. That can save up up to 300 MB.But it can also be that it is a corrupt file (or a fake file)
