ok when u turn on ur computer and u c that blue logon on screen (unless u changed ur log on screen) and it has all the peoples account and when u click on it it ask u for a password well i dont c dat screen all i c is a black background and it has my screenname in the middle of the black background and i put in my password

You could try spicing things up and bit and just change your logon screen (like I have).

i had changed it wit Style Xp but i wanted my old logon screen and so i uninstalled style xp and deleted everything in the style xp folder and i think i might have deleted the logon screen


so is there a way i can get it back

Well...you could try downloading StyleXP agian and go to the Logon page and might try clicking "Before StyleXP..." but I don't know if it will work since you've uninstalled it.

Well, you left that part out in your first post.

The file that controls logon is called logonui.exe. Style xp should have backed it up but I'm not sure where, I don't use it.

Look in C:\WINDOWS\system32 for logonui.exe, maybe there is a backup there that has been renamed something like logonui.bac

Run a search for logonui and see if you find another copy. I see one at C:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386. You might be able to copy that one and paste in C:\WINDOWS\system32. Don't delete the current one, rename it to logonui.old in case it doesn't work out, you can change it back. You must boot into safemode first to do this.

It's possible that style xp did not change the logon at all, but instead changed a value in the registry to point to a different .exe to run.

You can check at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Winlogon
Look for the string "UI Host" the value should be: logonui.exe

Consider running a google search for logonui, a lot of information will come up.
