Thread: Why Should I Clean My Registry?

  1. #1
i've had my pc for about 3-4 months and i think its time to clean out the registry...what is the purpose of doing this and what programs do you recommend to do so? And can I mess up my comp if i delete some of the reg files?

well, if you've already installed/uninstalled a bunch of proggies it MAY be time,
but like SH said, gotta be carefull, use a prog that backs up what it removes

check in SH's or my sig, and hunt down regseeker or regcleaner
they both make backups, both are free,
and both are available at SH's site (shameless plug for SH )

but if ya havent been adding/removing warez, you shouldnt need to clean yet B)
I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile.
I will only complicate you. Trust in me and fall as well.
I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave.
I will work to elevate you just enough to bring you down.

Its always time to clean out the registry. It keeps unnecessary reg keys and entries from cluttering up your registry.

Its like taking out the trash.
