Keep in mind, bigdawg, that Intel curreny uses an 200 X 4 = 800 MHz QDR front side bus. The memory, at that clock, with 400 X 2 = 800 MHz DDR is in sync with at 1:1.

I think your FSB is at 400 MHz, overclocked, which should be synchronized with your system memory @ 400 MHz (1:1 too).

Keep in mind that it at least half of the speed of abu's memory subsystems, because he has overclocked his FSB a bit, too. You see, that is the problem with the Sandra benchmark. It is completely synthetic and not based at all on reality. Like what kind of computations your system is capable because it is an AMD processor rather than Intel.

wat's a good benchmark tool? if sisoftsandra is not very realistic, and aquamark is more or less based on graphx performance, what's a good one for benching the pc?

Clocker, the reason why the Aquamark3 test is excellent is the fact that it has a results comparison database in which people with different systems can compare performance of CPU and GPU with the same test.

Look closely at the results: you will see a CPU and a GFX score, which are computed separately from your Aquamark3 score itself. The Aquamark3 score (in thousands) is the average frames per second your system gets during the benchmark.

The disadvantage of the Sandra benchmarks is the variablity of scores dependent on which version the user has installed. If my computer is working correctly, you liked to a version from several years ago, while I am running Sandra 2004. How do you intend to draw a conclusion when from tests results from different software?
read that abu; I hope that answers your question.

    Register the free version:

    Just do the email thing.

click here to register a new free account

The Aquamark Result Comparator - In-depth comparison in only 3 steps:

After entering the ARC, you can see your personal overview page which will show your previously uploaded AquaMark3 measurements. You can name the measurements, delete them and make them available for the public. To start a comparison you just have to select one of your measurements from the list..

On the second page, simply enter basic and/or extended search criteria for the comparative systems and see the results immediately. Sort the results by their Aquamark3 TRISCORE™ (Aquamark Score, CPU Score, GFX Score), their Frames Per Second, their Triangles Per Second or by their PIXPM™, which is our AquaMark3 Pixel Performance Measurement (number of rendered pixels per second).

By selecting a result's compare link, you get to the detailed comparison page which will give you a visual impression of the measurement's scores. Our new SYSBAL™, the AquaMark3 System Balance, will also tell you how well your system's main components fit together. Finally you will find detailed information about both systems underlying the measurements.
