Asf To Avi

i want to convert asf file to avi but i cant find anything that will do it i tryed virtaldub and it wouldn't let me it said it no longer supported asf files what do i do???

asf uses the windows media player codecs MS will not let any one else use them vdub use to be able to do it but MS sent them a nasty therating letter and so now they have removed the abillity u might try geting an older version of vdub

i dont know of any other progs out that will do it maybe some one else dose
i avoid this by just plane not getting WMA files
or real audio for that matter there the same way
Just say no to propritary formats

virtual dub stoped supportin asf after 1.3 so have a look around

for virtualdub 1.3

There is a simple sulution for you. Search Klite for TMPGEnc 2.5 Plus.
This will convert ASF files by re-encoding them to either MPEG or DVIX/AVI.
It is somple to use and has a good set of editing tools.

Yes, Asftools 3.1 converts .asf files to .avi. It also repairs damaged .asf, .wmv, or .wma files.
