I disagree. This forum seems to have a decent host yet it's had many bandwidth problems in the past because of high traffic and people trying to overload the server. A serial search site would have about 100 times more hits, as well as more people trying to overload the server, and pages would have to load MUCH faster than on any forum like this one to make it a good search engine.

Maybe it wouldn't cost thousands at first, but if the site gets really popular (like astalavista or even half that), then it will. You'll need multiple servers to run that thing, each at about $150 per month.

I don't know of any host that would allow you to make this kind of site, so you would either have to know people underground ... or have your own powerful working surfer so I suppose you would need to shell out if your serious about doing so ...

I think what [SPAM] wants to do is create a simple site that has links to cracks and serials, with a search feature.

It shouldnt really cost anything, but will require a lot of time to find those links to index and to keep them up-to-date.

There are many free hosting companies offering cgi facilities, so you can run your own scripts to do all this. and there are lots of cgi script sites offering free scripts for similar purposes, you just need to adapt them for your own uses.

You can hide your identity, so you can't be traced by using proxy servers.


EDIT: I forgot to mention. You are likely to be shutdown by your host very quickly once they are informed/discover your site is offering such links
