    what do i have to do to keep avg from scanning for viruses everytime i startup my computer?

    Open Up AVG > Switched to advanced mode > double click scheduled tasks > Double click "Test Plan in Basic Mode" here you can either diasable the scan, change the time of the scan, the option you mite want to uncheck is "If missed, start immediately when user logs on"
