If you hit someone on the back of the head it could force the skull against the brainstem and cause someone to stop breathing. That is why it is illegal in boxing.

It either works or it doesn't, no long term consequence.

All or nothing, no worries.

To find the spot, run your hand over the middle of your head until you feel a small bump in the back. Just below this spot would be where the brainstem leaves the skull.

Hit that squarely and your opponent goes "nighty night".
