How To Pack A Game

he how do i pack a game like myth and sharereacor do it...

Good luck.....I thought I knew a little about stuff like that. Then I tried to do "rip"(for a lack of better word) Jedi Knight 2. Now way man. I have no clue how those guys get that files that small, and still be FULL games. The most I get JK2 packed to was 632mb....only about 120Mb's smaller.

well, thats something... but jk2 was around 600mb when i downloaded it
so i do think you know it...

well I used Winrar one time and I used Winace another......really don't remember the specs totally....I've slept since then

i think winace was the prog. that spared you 128 (or something) mb because winrar isn't so good in packing... or i do it all rong...

Hey Wocus

Programs like winzip and winrar have special options, you can use different modes how faster the program packs it how bigger the zip file (most times).

BTW I use winace bcs it creates the smallest files if you want to pack large files (like movies etc.) B)

f you have to ask you will never be able to do it.
me personally I don't know But I think they use a special High compression standard and they pack each file individually then they archive it.This is probably wrong.just a guess
