If everyone was behind a proxy server, then chances are everyone is firewalled and once again nobody would be able to download or upload to anyone else.
but not everyone is proxied and firewalled r they?

I'm saying everyone that does locks themselves out of everyone else who does.

Considering MANY broadband connections are now running firewalls (incorrectly configured for running p2p file-sharing programs) and/or behind routers, this will become an ever-worsening problem.

Is file-sharing 'worth it' if about all you download off of is 56k (unfirewalled) users?
