Okay, I'm really new at this, so I apologize if I am missing something really obvious.
I have the RealPlayer, with many songs saved on my computer from CD. These are now in my shared folder, but I don't think anyone can use them since they are not mp3s. Is that right?
Is there any way to make them into mp3s using realplayer? Do I just need different software altogether?

Not sure about RealOne, but if you have the free version I don't think they let you rip the music you can get a free mp3 encoder here Depending on your OS, if you can use v.1.3 that would be your best bet, 1.4 and the new 1.5 beta have issues.
You don't HAVE to have your music in mp3 but wav files are too big and so you'll not likely have ppl d/ling from you.
