Help Wiht ".tar" And ".rar" And "svcd"

I no theres a lot of topics on this, but i cant seem to under stand how to watch the video files. I have WinRar or watever, and i need step by step instruction on how to watch the video .

open the file you have with winrar and extract it. then you should be able to watch the movie

If you need further help give a bit more information,
what the name of the file you donwloaded?

make sure uhave the the right codecs by downloading the latest version of divx, I had a problem with that at a certain time

tar file extracts to a rar file
rar file extracts to a bin/cue normaly
once you have the bin/cue you can burn it and watch on your stand alone dvd player
or if you just want to watch it on your pc
grab http://www.videolan.org
it can play bin files

or u can open the bin file file wit CDmage and extract it and then it will be a .avi or .mpg or wut ever
