i'm having a prob. u guys are saying to spread it out on both the hs and the cpu, and some other ppl are telling me to put a small dab on the cpu core and let the hs evenly spread it out as it's mounted. which way should i go? cuz this other guy says that spread it out will cause air to get into the grease, and it'll not perform as well.

I just put a little squirt on the die of the cpu and spread it around and then let the heatsink spread it the rest of the way.The layer can only be so thick. The heatsink will push any excess out,you know what I am saying?
