Obviously as you can see from the output "there is no such file or directory"

So get automake.

Are you using the gcc compiler? What are you trying to compile besides automake?

Check your version of gcc with --- "gcc -v" no quotes

Whay version of red hat are you running? and I dont see any output from ./configure

did you run it? Whats this I found on their site?

Warning: if you compile PyGTK yourself, make sure you enable threading support by using ./configure --enable-thread
Did you do that? Try this http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idp...noarch.rpm.html
It came from http://rpm.pbone.net/ Since your using gcc 3.2 I assume your using red hat 9 out the box.

Why do you just keep running make?

Try

"./configure", then make, then make install

Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gtkgl-2.0.pc'

No package 'gtkgl-2.0' found

You need to find out where that is installed and add the location to your /etc/ld.conf file.
