are the scores comparable to actual game performance - for example if Aquamark's score increased by 10% would i see a 10% improvement in actual games?

The Sexay Half Of ABBA And Max: Freelance Plants
ummm yeah...I guess. If the game is already flawless then you wont really see much difference..but if the game is kinda jumpy then it might get better yeah.

If you see a 10 percent better score in Aqumark, which is based on FPS, then theoretically you would gain 10% more FPS in higher end games, which might help you out a bit in the intense scences, but not that much.
Aquamark3 uses a DX7/DX8/DX9 shaders, so yeah, as long as the game you are playing uses them, changes in scores should roughly reflect overall improvement.
