Milk Sucks,Got Beer?
What is this kad network in the eMule v0.41b.29? How does it help things?

kad = kademlia.
Its a serverless protocol system. It tries to achieve the way overnet works (without the need of servers hence serverless) and incorporate it into emule. Its still a relatively new thing and IMO hasnt been developed fully just yet.

If you use both Kademlia and ed2k you'll have a few more sources then with only ed2k. But you'll also have more overhead.
You can also try to use only Kademlia, you won't find many sources for rare files but enough for more popular ones.
But the whole network is still alpha.
