Thread: Change Bootup Setting In Bios

    i've got a bootable win xp cd, which it won't read on startup, so i gotta change something in the bios, but what should i change and where can i change it. i know how to enter bios though.

    Almost everyone's BIOS is a bit different in some way, but usually, if you have a look in advanced settings or something like that, you should see a boot sequence.

    More than likely, the people from which your bought the PC have disabled CD booting in the BIOS, it's pretty easy to change it back. Mostly it's just, navigate with your arror buttons then press enter on the particular option you want to change and select an option from the list displayed by pressing enter again, well that's how mine works.

    I would recommend you set your boot order to:
    1. Floppy
    2. CDROM
    3. Hard Drive

    That suits almost everyone.

    great thanks! i changed it, but could only change it to cd-rom, floppy, hdd. but that is good enough, i'm now finally installing win xp!
