Doom Iii Alpha Leak Is It Worth It?

Hi Guys,

I'm seeing this massive 374 + meg leaked file called DOOM_3 Alpha available for download. I love Doom ever since its first release back in 1993 and will definatly be buying Doom 3 when its released. My question is has anybody had any luck in getting it to work? I heard that you need a DirectX9 video card such as ATI 9500 or ATI 9700 to even view it otherwise all you get is a white screen. Also heard that your lucky to get an intact copy of it without a corrupted file showing up during the Winrar extraction process. It's a big download and I do not want to waste my time on it if I'm going to have all these problems.

i'm running it on athlon 750 GF4 Ti4200 and it runs at 9.5 fps
other than a tad laggy i suggest you download it even if you risk getting corrupted d/ls
if it's corrupted , d/l it again and again until you get it right !

trust me , it's worth every byte

I personally wouldn't recomend it, for it wont have all the features the real version would have, plus this version is the ALPHA version, its one of the most suckiest stages of all. So if you play it now, it may ruin your taste for the full version ahead...

To be honest, i liked it.

I downloaded a couple of config files just to make it run smoother, and i can get anywhere from 30-50 fps.

thats on my 2100xp, and ti4200, 512ddr.

Its a very pretty game, and very graphic, and if anything, it got me more pumped for the game, cuz it is very sharp.

Anyone got the hash again? Cause last time I played, I was only able to get to the opening movie... Since the file had a sh*t load of errors...

3 fps ? i think a power point slide is faster

after the opening movie you have type in the commands to load the map..After the movie bring down the console and do it.(dont click on single player or it will just sit there and do nothing)

I get 20-40 fps on a G4 MX 420

Yes get it! Even with the currupted files it still works fine on mine! you need to type in the map name that you want to run to make it work though as the menu on the game doesnt work. It goes at about 10 fps when fighting but goes up a lot when walking around. the graphics are absolutely amaaaaazing! you have to get this if you have a computer capable of running it at a high speed! it really is insaaanely good.
