Blocking A Website

I want to block a few websites from being viewed, how do i do it??

Please help....

Several ways:

1. Add domain to windowshostfile
2. Internetfilter from virusscanner
3. Do whois and add IP to blocked zone in firewall.

OK, go here and type in the URL, from IE adress bar, into "Do stuff" box, and click do stuff...

near the top, it says stg like http://www.whatever.com resolves to 123.123.123.123

put that number into your firewall, as blocked.

also, you could try searchin Kazaa for stg like netnanny, if you want to block porn and stuff

That's a good way to block it, But is there other ways to do it by not Advertising that its blocked.. Like make it to a DNS Error???

You have to give us some more clues to the nature
of your problem!
Is it that you are being redirected while surfing?
If that is so reconfiguring browser settings could do the trick.
Go to Tools >internetoptions >security > customlevel
Now you can set everything in mode disabled (except File&font dwld &prompt for
certificate)
When in doubt choose prompt .
Also take a look on your ISP-helpdeskpage. B)

Point it to a DNS error? Weird, but I guess you can "assign" it an out-of-range IP or find a defunct site and assign *its* IP to the site you want to block, in your hosts and lmhosts files...

what's better and more useful is a ip checker for everyone who enters your webpage.... i dunno how to use perl... sigh*.... in that case... i don't even know javascript... all i know is basic c++

if you want it to look like a dns error, i'd advise you to use the HOSTS trick:
search on your computer for a file called 'HOSTS' (there's no extension)
open it with notepad,
and append this line:
127.0.0.1 www.the-site-you-want-blocked.com
127.0.0.1 ads.other-site-you-wanna-block.com
save the file, and your probs are over
