Yah I have learned a lot more. I never said a LOAD of jobs, just at 2 local places. The reason why most companies dont hire any younger then 16 is insurance. If you parents sign stuff you can work at 15 without breaking the law. Yeah it was a 30 Page thread...most of the time it wasnt even me talking though. A lot of it was just everyone else talking about other stuff. Let it go it was a while ago.

And why would a computer shop not hire a 15 year old? If I know the same stuff as someone whose 18 then it doesnt really matter at all how old I am
hiring a 15 year old is legal, if the guy has a work permit from his school. i have one. i just need a job. think i should work part time for some computer store? but which one?
Mainly because a lot of people, out of pride, on purpose will avoid being served by a person thats much younger (we could be talking 10-30 years + here) that knows 10x more than them, just so as not to look stupid.

Plus, who likes being served by the spotty 15 year olds at McDonalds ?? (joke by the way )

You dont mate.

I just upgraded my sisters pc from a celeron 1.3 epox(3wtm via chipset) ,to amd 2600+tb shuttle(ak338n via)with no problems,no reinstll ,or format.
I agree, just because you install a new mobo, doesn't mean you have to reinstall the OS, I've done it serveral times, just moving one hard drive to the other.
It maybe optimal to go all out and even reformat, but it's not required, so It's not a fact.
Of course you will have a bunch of extra unneeded drivers installed, so it would be cleaner, but it doesn't mean it's not going to work.

What happened clocker? How was that? You had a leak or something?
Yes DW, I did.
I even tried to do everything right, too.
I had tested the water circuit out side of the box and all seemed fine, apparently the hose only leaked ( and it was a very tiny, slow, pinhole leak at that) when bent at it's final, installed shape.
As usual, upon first firing it up, I watched for any problems, but not long enough.
3 or so hours later the Radeon died a hideous and painful death.

The only replacement that I had handy is an ancient PCI card from a old Compaq or something. Max resolution is 480x600 and it only supports 16-bit color.

Needless to say, it BITES.
:

That sucks Clocker, so when's the funeral for the dead friend.
Ahh, just try again, and I know you will.
and you will suceed this time, I have faith in ya.

Sorry Brainiac, but you are dead wrong. If you change your motherboard (go from a say, Dell->an Abit) you need to reinstall Windows, it's just a fact of life.

i said reformat, not reinstall. two completely different things. sometimes you can switch motherboards without reinstalling (i.e. you stuck with the same mobo/chipset brand), sometimes you've gotta reinstall in order to get working drivers onto the HD (i.e. you switched brands)... but there are a lot of self-styled hardware "gurus" out there who will absolutely insist that you need to reformat and completely abandon the partition just 'cause you swapped a new mobo or video card in, and that's just ridiculous.

i'll just trust that you prolly misread that sentence.
I am sorry, but there is no way you can take a hard drive, from, say, for the sake of arguement, off of my DELL, and plug it into big dawg's ASUS and expect to boot up Windows effectively.

That remains a fact of life.

Now it is no Michael Jordan manuever to move data from one hard drive to another; I do this all the time, whenever I perform a back-up. I hope that is what you are referring to. Or, you could mean a GHOST partition.

Edit: and Brainiac, it is good to see you around.
Adam, if you're not going to read and try to comprehend what Brainiac has posted (twice), please STFU.
if your font size is this small i'll add you to my ignore list because you're wasting my time, OK?
