Ohh noo!!! I make dribbles!!!
i kinda disagree with the premise that overclocking and experience with overclocking is the measure of how good a person is with computer hardware. there's a lot more to it than that, and there are plenty of people who are whizzes with hardware who've prolly never overclocked at all.Originally posted by abu_has_the_power@2 February 2004 - 22:10

if this doesn't look fair, point that out
as a hobby, yeah, overclocking and Xxtreme k00ling take a certain amount of learning & skill, but how important actually is that skill? it's just a hobby. being able to build & maintain stable workstations, servers and LANs, being able to resolve hardware conflicts without immediately resorting to a reformat, etc.... that's the kind of stuff you could actually get paid for. for example, if a person thinks he has to reformat his Windows drive just 'cause he changed his motherboard, then he ain't that good.

Sorry Brainiac, but you are dead wrong. If you change your motherboard (go from a say, Dell->an Abit) you need to reinstall Windows, it's just a fact of life.

Sorry, Adam, but you've got the shit-covered end of the stick there. Perhaps another fact of life.
