Windows Explorer Problem

i have got a C and D drive on my computer and c works ok, but every time i go in to d it tell me this " windows explorer gas a prob and needs to close, so i close it and thats it closes my d drive, but i can still look through and use the stuff on my d drive if i dont close it what do i do.
