Thread: Archive Corrupted

1. #1
Hello, i just finished downloading the 1.8gb Simpsons Hit and Run game for PC off IRC. Its a .tar file. Anywase when i extracted it with WINRAR, after everything was extracted I get an error that the archive is corrupt. Is there anything i can do about this because i really do not want to have to download it again and it took forever to download. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've had this problem almost every single time I've downloaded a .TAR file. I'd like to know if anyone had any success with Advanced TAR repair too. It doesn't seem like my files are missing they're just corrupted.

I have not had success with advanced tar repair. I find the same thing with TARS, they are always corrupt.

i have had some success with using tar98 to extract tars when winrar didn't work..I used tar98 to do the initial extract then switched to winrar to extract the bin cue from the rars... worth a look.....(it seems like advanced tar repair doesn,t quite live up to expectations hmmm)...
