Do something simple, it doesnt matter what the setting really is. The most important thing is the interaction between the characters. Take the Barber Shop movies... Pretty much one set, but all dialogue, and they let the dialogue carry the scene rather than the setting or visuals. This is what I would suggest given the fact that you will have pretty much no budget, and just the camera on your back.Originally posted by kaiweiler@5 February 2004 - 19:37

Take an event that you, or a friend has experienced, write up a dialogue around it and just have the consequences of that dialogue be very heavy. Whether or not you show those consequences is up to you. The main thing is to convey to the audience the feeling that they would not want to have to make that decision themselves.
When you write it up, have male and female friends read it and ask them what they think. Everything that they say won't necessarily be important, but listen to everything they have to say, and if even the most minute thing that they mention changes that script to look better to you, then use it.
You got an amazing chance to get a great headstart in film even if you are'nt thinking of making it a career. Anyone can run around with a camera turned on, so why not kick it up a notch and surprise the hell outta that film teacher.
