buy a router livy, its better than a retarded switch
Thing is, a router wouldn't allow you to hook up 16-24-32 computers to the same connection

If I used my switch, I could hook up 16 puters [/b][/quote]
yeah it does, it has an uplink port, so u can connect a switch or hub into it to expand. the router is alot more versatile, and safer,

You would need a router AND a switch for that matter, whilst you only need a switch with the other way. Safer? The world of software is endless. Make a pick

but u cnat really put it that way, as u can but bigger ported routers, and also smaller ported switches. u can get 8port routers, not sure about bigger ones.

suppose about the safer bit doesnt matter, as the network gets bigger its harder to configure the router as it will run out of the number of ports u can forward,

A multiport (i mean 6+) router is more expensive than a switch, though

but with a switch though, one computer willl have to be setup as a server, and always on.
