i have a few downloads that are ace extensions, now are ace files self extracting files? or do you have to have a program to open them and if so what program is the best to do so?

Winace is the proggy you want, but i think winrar can do just as good a job on them though but if you struggle with that then get winace.

If the extension's .ace then it's just a straight ACE archive, which is obviously best read by WinACE, although I believe WinRAR can read them.

It it's .exe then it's a self-extractor and should extract the files with a simple double-click.
