Thread: New Gfx Card To Go With New Mobo

  1. #1
okay im in uk i broke my mobo and im getting a new one.
but im sick of not being able to play gd games on my shitty gforce 4 mmx128mb so i got an ebuyer email with some deals.

they have a ATI Saphire Radeon 9200 256MB DDR AGP TV-Out DVI Lite. for £60 that includes VAT and just a bit for delivery.
now its 256 which is double my old ones but why so cheap? its not a SE is it? if the lite bit means i get no games well i dont rly care cause i'll just download them.
my new mobo has 8X AGP so i can fully utalize it.

but what im asking is why is it so cheap?

and is it a good card for extreame gaming? (im gonna wanna play half life 2 with full settings same with doom stuff like that)

    thnx

First off, a card having 256 has nothing to do with being able to run games.

Secondly, for playing games suck as hl2 and d3 (specially on high settings), you REALLY need to get at least a radeon 9600 or an fx5600.

    feck,

i though cause its 256 it can play games faster causes its got more ram to do whatever it needs to do.

but is that a gd card? i only have 50 english pounds to spend from my budget.

is it gonna b better than my current piece o shit?

Its not gona play extreme games very well at all...the best deals right now are the 9700Pro for 200 and the 9800Pro for 230...but you cant spend that much. Get at least a 9600 or 5600, as dwk said.

Dear god get that one. Im about 90 percent positive those are the L shaped 3.3ns memory ones, which are GODLY overclockers.

About 80 percent of those model of 9500 np's softmod/overclock to 9700 pro's, because their essientlly the same thing, just badged differently.
