I downloaded a movie and when I went to the directory it was downloaded to it wasn't the same movie I thought I had downloaded. Why is this? Are there people out there that are renaming movies because they don't have anything else to do?

Pretty much. There's lots of speculation as to why people would do this, I personally have no idea, but I find it very annoying, as does everyone else here I'm sure.
There are ways to avoid this, try using Avi preview to have a look at the file as it is downloading. Also when you run a search for the file and find many sources, click the + next to the file name, some people will rename these files to the correct title and you will be able to see it if you expand the results. And third, if you can find verified hashes for these files, you will save yourself a headache.
Just use verified hashes and you'll never get this problem again.

And our forum has a lot of verified files as well.
Again- it happens. Use verifieds and always mouse over your files to make sure that file and title match.
And DELETE fakes, or name them as fakes. I once got a bad copy of Austin Powers and forgot to delete it, and when I came back all these people had d/l'ed it from me.
Oopz.

i think he qouted the wrong person! :rtfm: B)
People who post fakes must think that it is funny. Just remember that if you receive another to post it on the forum under "FAKES" this way we can all avoid it.
they got rid of fake section (those bastards)
i was one of the few poeple who said it should stay
but hey
Well..why have a fakes section when you could scroll through the verefieds?
things are quiet until hitler decides he'd like to invade russia
so, he does
the russians are like "OMG WTF D00DZ, STOP TKING"
and the germans are still like "omg ph34r n00bz"
the russians fall back, all the way to moscow
and then they all begin h4xing, which brings on the russian winter
the germans are like "wtf, h4x"
