Thread: Best Linux Version?

  1. #1
Could I get an opinion here? I want to know what the best version of Linux is that has a bootloader option installed. Going to put it on my computer today. Also, a homepage where I can get the version would be appreciated, too.

There is no best. It depends on your needs. For the newbie/regular user, Mandrake, Slackware, or RedHat would do just fine.

Teacher suggested Fedora and Redhat, gonna try Redhat first. Does that XP thing work on any linux version? Turns out the damn links are down for the Redhat downloads. Guess I'll have to search around for another place to get it.

Try Fedora Core. Its not as good as Red Hat 9, but its really not a good idea too get to attached to red hat 9 right now as Fedora will eventually supercede that.

And try a mirror site. Their faster anyway.

Lindows is crap and always will be crap until it comes up with it's own respectable name and stop using microsoft as a scapegoat.
