    would any motherboard fit into a case. (atx)

    If the motherboard is ATX format and so is the case, yes they are compatable.

    Micro atx needs a micro atx case. AT needs..... thats not used now is it?

    Some motherboards need custom rear panels because their rear connectors are in a non-standard layout. Most Asus boards are a good example.
    So if you're getting a new board and it's not got a standard rear panel layout, make sure it comes with the custom panel!

    It's very important to check out the PSU in any new case. Make sure it's AMD/Intel approved.
