Thread: Soul Asylum

1. #1
Has anyone here ever heard of a band known as, "Soul Asylum"? I've noticed they aren't very popular, and they have some really good stuff. Be a pirate and download some of you havent heard of them...

Black Gold
Runaway Train
Promises Broken
Misery (Tribute to Kurt Cobain)
Somebody to Shove
Stranger
Just Like Anyone
Never Really Been

Thats just a few good songs; most people have only heard Runaway Train.

I've got Black Gold (the album, not the song ) hanging around somewhere.

things are quiet until hitler decides he'd like to invade russia
so, he does
the russians are like "OMG WTF D00DZ, STOP TKING"
and the germans are still like "omg ph34r n00bz"
the russians fall back, all the way to moscow
and then they all begin h4xing, which brings on the russian winter
the germans are like "wtf, h4x"
-- WW2 for the l33t

I've only heard the songs Just Like Anyone and Runaway Train. Didn't the video for Just Like Anyone feature Claire Danes?
The color of this signature is really blue. If you see otherwise, please adjust your monitor settings.

Why that limited amount of songs? I mean, they do have 10 studio albums to chose from..........and if you are nice, i may let you look at my ticket stubs from a few of the old 99 cent shows at First Avenue in their home town i saw them play at.........

It's the single I was talking about. As it has a B-side, it's not a song, but an album.

1 - 2 songs = single
2 - 4 songs = maxi-single
4 - 7 songs = ep
7 and up = album

this is a general guideline.....

When it comes to music on the internet, "popular" just isn't a word that applies to very much. So much selection, so many different tastes. However, Soul Asylum was a band that came from a time before p2p - when MTV actually played music. And back then (whenever Grave Dancers Union came out), they were quite popular. I'd say just a notch down from your Nirvanas and Pearl Jams.

The more you know.
