Thread: Mirc Auto Accept

  1. #1
I used the tutorial per venom, but whenever I am notified that someone is trying to send me a file, the msg window just sits there. I've tried it 3 times and each time the same. It will sits until it times out. Any ideas? Thanks

the first issue for this is, are you behind a firewall or router. if so you must forward the ports to your computer. lets say 1024 - 4096 but the range is up to you but make it a good sized range like the example. then in mIRC go to mIRC Options>>DCC>>Options and enter the range you forwarded into the DCC Ports section.

if it still doesnt work, then the problem is with the bot serving and not with you

Click for more activation options, then activate by telephone. Run the keygen.
if I call them, aren't they going to get me? (you know, down there)

Could anyone please direct me to some instructions for this that are written for the novice? Im trying, but what I've found so far, assumes too much of my computer prowess. I need simple instructions Thanks for you help!

i found a small little walkthrough CLICK

but remember, it is hardware specific. you must read the manual, or online help of the
manufacturer of your hardware (there wil be differences) then go through the sticky at the top of this section again. just to be sure

and as i mentioned, it could very well be the bot your trying to download from is not configured properly

I ckd out the walk through. On the first step where you are instructed to type in 192.168.1.1 , I did, and nothing happens. Well, It actually says page cannot be displayed. I use NIS 2004, I went to their site, under support, i searched for forwarding ports, it led me to my exact question, but there is no place in their instructions for adding port numbers. I looked thoughout the program and found nothing that remotely resembles this process. Im still stuck I know this is taking up your time, but if you can help me, I would really appreciate it. I have having to sit here in front of the puter, just to watch a bot go offline and me have to redo everything. Thanks again. Markil

see i am no help here, i have never personally used a software based firewall. my cable/dsl modem/router has a built in firewall, i have never had the need for software based. your best bet is to find a support forum of some type through Norton, or if you paid for the software ( which for something like this is a good idea) call there support line or drop them an email. they would know better than anyone.

incidentally the guides i posted will mean nothing as they are for "hardware" firewalls/routers, thats why it didnt work out for you.

wish i could be of more help, but alas i am stumped.
