With an air cooled rig, the chip ( and most likely the board also) have to be at least a few degrees warmer than the surrounding air.
Don't they?
Long as im not the only one that realizes it.
Well I am thinking that if nothing else the programs are reading the sensor backwards or something.Maybe my chassis temp of (currently 27 degrees) is actually my CPU temp (it is currently reading only 24 degrees, and so is the motherboard reading).I know these temps are quite low but it was pretty warm today (haha,-6 degrees LOL) so I have had the window open a crack pretty much all day.It might be 20-21 degrees in the room right now.

For a typical system ( meaning not heavily modified), 27 C
is pretty darn low, even for an idle reading.

Well, even with my old board I tried to make sure they were always no higher than 35-38 ,that didn't always work. I know my old XP2200+ ran alot cooler on my old board than the XP1900+ did. I think I may go to Gigabyte's website and see if I can email somebody to see if this seems out of wack to them.Maybe this is a problem with theses boards.

Maybe someone has made a custom MBM .ini file for your board.
There is one for my Asus and it automatically sets the app to read the proper sensors...no guesswork involved.
