Has Any1 Else Had This Problem?

i lost 50 gigs of anime cuz winXP was incorrectly indexing on an NTFS partition...

any1 else suffer from this? do the service packs fix this???

Software problem.

Turn indexing off btw:

My Computer -> Right click on [DRIVE] -> Properties -> Uncheck indexing.

i kno i learned dat too late but is there a way i can prevent it in the future WITH indexing enabled?

I think it likes to have files indexed so they can be found more quickly when you search for them. If you never use the search utility in explorer to search for files then just leave indexing off.

Or use a third party app that will catalouge all your files and folders without you having to run the indexing service in xp.
