Thread: Strange Movie File

  1. #1
I've downloaded a couple movie files so far here recently that when i try to play them they prompt me for a user name or password. All of them have had the file extension .asf but were recognized as .wmv. tried using windows media player, winamp, v-lan, div-x. Any ideas as to what these files are? thanks for the help.

i think these movies have encrypted access most likely the person who created the video used this to restrict people

If the file is really asking you for a username/password, then you should take a good look at the filename of the movie. Most of the time the password is included in the filename.
