Hi,

can someone please tell me if it is possible to cut out a segment of a video file .avi .mpeg etc to use as a stand alone file, for example a 5 min action scene or a music clip. If it's possible what is the best/easiest tool to use?

thanks

VirtualDub can do this easily and quickly. Load in the video file, move the slider along the bottom to the start of the clip you want, click on the "start offset" button. Move the slider to the end of your desired clip, click on the "end offset" button. Then choose the compression you want (Video>Compression then choose your codec). Then just go to File>Save as AVI and you're finished
On a given day or given circumstance, you think you have a limit.
And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit and you think "Ok, this is the limit".
As soon as you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further.
