Unfortunately, for some odd reason I am unable to connect to tripod via FTP, so couldnt help much. Their php4u said Access denied and there was a news a year old saying their hdd crashed so all db's with s and t are lost

How about hosting the board remotely if you can't get tripod set up right?
ClicDev offers some good IB hosting. So does IPBFree and InvisionFree.
Thats what I suggested initially.
ClicDev is pretty good, you can have your custom skins as well.

BBFree.com's good... ClicDev doesn't allow hacks... and InvisionFree is as slow as frozen molasses.

No, you email the already modded files to the support staff and they'll upload it for you. Any hacks requiring queries must have the queries completed via ACP before they upload the files.
Obviously, this makes hacks to the ACP itself that require queries impossible, but it's better than nothing.
