My Tornado With A Fan Controller

my current tornado is running at full speed. and it's killing my ears.

how low will the noise go? i don't want it to completely go to 0, but low enough to sit next to.



and does this include the 4pin to 3pin converters i need to plug in the fans?

You can just lower the RPMs of each fan, I believe.

That would lower the DBs a lot.

You will notice that there are connectors for each fan. See the yellow parts?

It looks to me to be the same type of connector that you find on motherboard fan headers.

the prob is my tornado uses regular 4 pin molex connectors. so i need adapters to connect the fans to this thing. the black one that newegg sells for $19 has all the connectors. but it doesn't really match my silver case.



but this thing does lower the db rite? by how much do u think?

why not just lower the voltage to either 7v or 5v

i've decided that i want the speed back up to full when i'm playing games or away from the computer. so i don't ahve to shut down and rewire the wires if i want to change fan speed

u could get a small double throw switch to change between 12v and 7v or 5v its very easy to do, and mound the switch on the coverplate for an unsed bay, eg floppy otr 3.5" or whereever u want it.

i thought the 5v or the 7v mod was to switch the wires. how could a switch do the mod?

like how could a switch that i flip switch the voltages?
