Ethernet. Without a doubt. Much stabler connections. Even the guys at my cable company have agreed with me on this.

WIRED ethernet. A good 10/100 Mbps NIC PCI card is best because it's the cheapest and fastest-for-the-price connectivity route you can get.
Wireless routers are especially bad at handling the 40+ connections-at-once that are typical with p2p file-sharing programs. They simply lose data, slow down, and even lock up.
