this is the cheapest router on ebuyer

u could put the router next to the modem,

then one cable to the computer and another to your hub/switch and put the other 2 pcs into the switch,

    edit: diag

it isnt going through 2 routers, it going through a router, then connecting to a switch, which is perfectly fine.

the thing you posted to wont work, as the way it works you would need 3 i.p's for them all to work as all pcs will be seen from the internet, as a router jides them all so you only need one i.p

you need a router. the only way the switch will work is if you keep the current way its setup.

also is it adsl or cable you have? and is the modem connected via usb or ethernet?

im in the uk so its broadband im not sure what that is in the USA but its 600k.

right now its connected through USB but with this new set up will be ethernet. so the cheapest thing is gonna cost me £20?

    crap

as long as it has a ethernet connection on the modem then that setup will work fine, and yeah thats the cheapest way of doing it.

edit: and it would be £30 inc vat and delivery

but it also has a print server, so if u have a usb printer you could plug it into the router and would be able to print form all pcs. without having to put the poc that th printer was connected to.
