    Okay, here goes!
I just added a second HD to my comp and it was working fine. So, now I have one 80gb connected via SATA and one 30gb connected via IDE, both set as masters (because they are on 2 different channels)
Now! this was working perfectly fine, untill I shutdown my computer. Now when I start it up, I get one of two messages
    1. Verifying DMI Pool Data.......
        NTLDR is missing
        Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart
    OR
    2. Something about unable to find bootdisk, not sure bout that one.
Okay, I get message 1 when I have both HDs connected
I get message 2 SOMETIMES when only the SATA drive is connected
and if I get message 2, then I nudged one wire coming from my PSU and it loaded fine, still with only the SATA HD connected though. As if there was a loose connection or something.
My OS is installed on my SATA drive, so I think my PSU may have a loose connection somewhere, and that is why it sometimes cannot find Bootdisk, which is the HD I would boot to, but when wire is nudged or moved, it can find it and all is well, except my other HD cannot be connected at all for it to load
I am completely at a loss about message 1 though!
can anyone PLEASE help me out?? This is URGENT!

    Kai
Kai, read the info on this link, it may give you some help
on the first issue.(ntldr is the loader for the operating system)
    http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000465.htm

on the second issue, it just sounds like a connection/ hardware problem
just carefully unplug parts and reinsert them...maybe some connector is
just not seated exactly.get sata working first (os), then connect other drive after
    you get system up.

take your time, let us know how you are progressing.

it is the small things that usually drive us mad

i agree , the nt thing is a conflict where the bios cant find where to boot windows from, this is also related to your h/d problem

the fact is your sata drive and ide drive are conflicting, causing both problems, depending on what you want, i suggest the following

    1. remove the ide drive and restart with just the sata, partition and format the sata and install windows, get windows working 100%

    2. having windows on the sata is the way to go as its faster read write eg faster windows

    3. stick cdroms dvd ect in the ide bus 0 in master / slave mode

    4. stick the ide h/d as ide bus 1 slave, as you will just use this h/d for backup and it will be seen there

this should work, i seem to remember that the motherboard you mentioned had some issues with sata and ide but im pretty sure this will fix it for you
