We are still working on it
We want to use KMD 2.7 for the next release to solve the SP2 problem and to be up to date, but Sharman added some extra protection
I already tried a few things to come around these protections but failed. At the moment Sharman is one step ahead, but I don't give up so fast

we are currently working on a version based on new KMD 2.7.

most of khancers features are already working, but there are still a lot of things to do.
as we dont use klr.exe anymore we have to care about its features aswell. this is the tough part of development and at the moment i cant tell when or even if all klr features will/can be done.

at least we've been able to remove or disable some of the crapware.

this is really a lot of work and some things need to be started from scratch.

so please be patient and stay tuned

a little development update:

fixed all khancer features on XP. win9x still causes some problems.
added unlimited search more (and auto search more of course).
added a domain blocker (replacement for the hosts file).
changed the port of the internal webserver to 87, so no more problems if you run a another webserver on your machine.
a lot of crapware block and removal code optimization.

at the moment i'm working on a new clean installation system for KMD. it will be easier to use and should cause less problems. it will be a bit more like DK armor but of course better
features that arent finished yet are the IP blocker and a p-level hack.
already found solutions for both, but it's a lot of work so it will take some time.
the p-level hack will let you freeze the p-level.

another little update:

KShield which installs KMD without the crapware is finished. It blocks all crapware files, folders and registry keys. every file that is created on your HD will be logged aswell as every reg key that the KMD installer creates (or tries to create

so you still need the KMD installer, but you can download it directly from sharman

IP blocker is partial finished. at the moment it only blocks outgoing connections. so 90% of the work is done.

a good solution for the p-level is still missing.

Yes, K-Lite 2.7 is fully independent, no more klr.exe

If someone was to reverse-engineer the KMD, I doubt they'll
post instructions etc about it.

eventually making k-lite, version independent is one of the of the goals ftfakes has in his mind ???? i hope since using another loader other than klr make it easier to modify the coding ... i hope k-lite will be out very soon

Their server is down. Not unusual. They have had problems with their server quite frequently over the last year. Hopefully they'll be up a going again. The last time I checked, they were working on ver 2.7 alpha 5.

that's a known issue brought up in the VIP forum. there's no virus, i assure you

and Spy Sweeper might have a problem with TopSearch.dll, ignore this as K-Lite blocks all the adware functions of the file

if you start k-lite 2.7 and then used resume all downloads the expand view of downloads doesn't work (if you try to expand view for the downloads)

@ Isamma - i get that if i have been searching for a long time and have a few tabs open due to low sys res.....win98SE - Kazaa 2.6

i have like 512mb ram and winxp sp2 amd athlon xp 3200 pro
and i have the same effect but if the traffic is active for long time and k-lite is not minimized then nothing happen ... so what could be the issue?????

if you try to switch between traffic and search or web tabs after having the same problem as before..(when k-lite is minimized and then maximized after long period ) then kazaa crashes

Ok download it, not bad at all.
works great and has same option as the KlExtension(khancer, right?)
except one thing, it takes twice resources of klite 2.4.3 and the search results r soo few, in klite243 there was hell lots of search results.

i stoped caring about klite since project droped down, and after this long i started to try this new builds again(just becuz klite243 aint connecting ).

A very nice experiment I have made is trying the new k-lite 2.7 with kmd 3.0 with very nice results



1- no crap ware is loaded and my system is clean

2- features of khancer are not enabled

3- kazaa loads and downloads very easily

4- pl 1000 registry is usfull



any way these are my first impressions … more to come after using it ….
