    ok heres a tough one for ya out there : ive been using emule for a couple of months now and everything was ok - nice high id good dl speeds


    now since yesterday ive been gettin a low id , i cant connect to hardly any servers as they dont like low ids,crappy dl speed as well (ul speeds are ok )



    xp firewall is turned off (i just checked) , i tryed turning sygate off but that made no difference at all -low id


    i have tryed 3 diff clients -low id
    i have no router either


    ive even been to some emule forums but i had no luck there either

    so any ideas guys ?

    What changes have u made to computer prior to slow down (eMule, firewall, network settings, etc.)? Easier to start there rather than justing throwing stuff against the wall.

    do you have "safe connect" enabled? (you should)
    with it off, you try to connect to more then one server at a time, thus causing a "traffic jam" on your listening port thereby causing low id. (and overwork the servers too)

    yes this is enabled , its always set to that , i always save the configuration files so that they are the same when i use a new mod (i tend to change mods from time to time to check new ones out )

    change emules port and restart.

    reduce no of files your sharing if over 500.

    Check the server log for any pertinent messages. Once I was getting stuck on the LowID apparently because me IP ended with a '0'
    On a given day or given circumstance, you think you have a limit.
    And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit and you think "Ok, this is the limit".
    As soon as you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further.
