jeezzzz I found out wich one but I need to close down xserver before I can install the driver
need help on this one, tried to shut it down from proccesmanager but suse crashed
You need to get your system to boot into runlevel 3. That means you will have a text based console and networking.

You will have to install the driver and then edit your /etc/X11/XF86Config file with vi, or emacs.

The easy way for "you" to change your runlevel from 5 to 3 is to use Linuxconf

3d acceleration but it still sez I have no driver, what am I doing wrong?

As been said. You need to tell X what driver to use.

    Edit this /etc/X11/XF86Config

    Is there a difference between a 5600xt and a 5600se?

You said before you had a 5600xt. The board in your config file says 5600se.

Wait one min, when i am installing Mandrake 9.0, and then when it asks me for my graphic card, i dont see it so i choose just ATI and then when i have already installed it, the graphics get messed up. I have an ATI radeon 7500.
You should try Mandrake 9.2. As distributions progress they have newer versions of Xfree86 and newer graphic cards are added to the list. [/b][/quote]
OK i will try the newer version but i could also try Red Hat?

Most people do not understand the importance of installing the correct driver for Xfree86 to be fully functional.

Eventhough another driver that is almost the exact same model of your card may give you a graphical interface, it will not be "fully" functional.

Provided you had the correct driver installed, enabling 3d acceleration would have been as simple as marking the little check box in sax2.
