    Hi people,

Ive use Kazaa for a while now without any real problems (i thinkits great actually)

In the past ive been able to quite happily have kazaa running in the backgroud whilst using the pc for other stuff at the same time without any noticable system slowdowns.

Recently, when kazaa is running it tends to hog my system beyond belief.

Ive got a fairly speedy pc and i tend to keep it running as well as possible.
    (XP Home-512MB-80GB+160GB-Pentium4 2.53GHz-Broadband-IE6)

Does anyone know of any issues about this within Kazaa itself?

    Any help appreciated, Thanx

    Jo

You can always try to lower your uploadlimit to a maximum 80% of your max uploadspeed.
    That might help

Somewhere between 500 - 1000 files marked for download (even if none are actively downloading) will cause your computer to start crawling.

    not realy.

check and see how fast klite is set to scan your files, also check for a corrupt file or db folder.

also need to know how many files you are sharing and your system specs

Hi Guys, thanx for the suggestions...

    Ok...

    Muscleman,
the problem is from the beginning and all the time KL is running.

    Set to scan every 1minute

    Find More Sources every 60secs

System Specs are... (XP Home-512MB-80GB+160GB-Pentium4 2.53GHz-Broadband-IE6)

I am sharing... 46426files. Mostly small progs, apps, jpgs... nothing too big
Ive always had a few thousands sharing files... which hasnt ever seemed to be a problem in the past.

How & where do i check for corrupt files or db folder?

    itesme,
i dont have to be downloading or uploading anythin for it to ho the system.
i rarely have more than a few smallish things downloading at a time

i see you have alot of files, the fact that they are so many might be doing it or maybe one or more of those files could be corrupt and that might be doing it.

very rarely it could be sp1.

in your case its easier to check the db folder:

first in any folder do this:

tools>folder options>view> here check the box for ?show hidden files"

The database files can be found in one of the following locations, depending on your version of Kazaa Lite:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kazaa Lite\db
    C:\Documents and Settings\%your username%\Application Data\Kazaa Lite\dbC:\windows\Application Data\Kazaa Lite\db
    C:\program files\kazaa lite\db\

i also need to know, how fast klite is scannning for new files, so look under options and please tell me that too

    46,426 FILES?
If you allow others to LIST your files, they could wreck your connection IF/WHEN enough people do it at once.

Just keeping track of all those files and upload requests no doubt puts a load on your RAM, CPU, and connection.

Seems you probably have quite a few uploads.

Does your upload slots fill almost instantly after starting Kazaa Lite?

46,462 files? With 512MB RAM (WinXP recommended minimum)? You crazy?

Of course, I'm sharing over 140,000... lol.
