Thread: Display Error

  1. #1
The driver nv4_disp for the display device \Device\Video0 got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. Please check with your hardware device vendor for any driver updates.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

    What should I do?

    My video card is:
    Geforce FX 5200
    Monitor is a Winbook 15"

My monitor also showed an error,

At first, there was a glitchy screen with the error:
"Device Failure, Please save all work and reboot"
    and the monitor said
    "Signal Out of Range, Please set to 1024 X 780 X 60"
After I pressed ok, the monitor became back to normal but the colors were messed up. What's wrong?

If it was ever working before then there is a way to get it back to that point. And it's not system restore

The Last Known Good Configuration feature is a recovery option that you can use to start your computer by using the most recent settings that worked. The Last Known Good Configuration feature restores registry information and driver settings that were in effect the last time the computer started successfully. Use the Last Known Good Configuration feature when you are unable to start Windows XP after you make a change to your computer, or when you suspect that a change that you just made may cause a problem. For example, you can use this feature if you are unable to start Windows XP after you install a new driver for your video adapter, or if you installed an incorrect driver, and have not yet restarted your computer.

Try this aswell mate or if your not using these drivers and its still the same, think of things you've done recently which could have caused it.
