how do I change the extention name of a file in XP??? for eg change exe to iso?
o don't have XP, but i'd doubt if things changed between Xp and win2K:
select file.exe(click on the name, not the icon...), and change the exe to iso.
If XP is set to hide known extensions, you have to uncheck that box in advanced folder options, or something like that...
no i still dont understand the folder options hasnt got hide file extention with win 2k all i did was right click go propities and change so what do I do?? anyone know?
ohh sorry mate jonn i'm an idiot I thought the option was ticked to not hide extention but it was the opposing thing ooops sorry. thanks for help too
i've got win xp, it's very simple.
open any folder (preferably where the file is located)
go TOOLS->FOLDER OPTIONS->VIEW->uncheck "Hide file extensions for known file types" (it's right under the hidden folder 'show' option)
didn't notice you found out, postet to late!
